Back to Nature - Back to Simple
For this week three muses challenge, Back to Nature, I’ve tried something a bit different and sort of simpler (it should be…). I've done a pencil drawing, scanned it, and then painted in Gimp. This was my first try in digital painting and it took ages to finish it (where the hell I put that old box of watercolor pencils?). Finnaly, I added an autumn leaves layer. Nevertheless, it was fun drawing again after twenty years or so...

ResponderExcluirI've been trying some sketching and scanning myself, so I really appreciate this one. I love the soft colors, and I'm glad our challenge put you in touch with this part of your talent again! Here in Indiana, by the way, we are ending our hottest, dryest summer, and looking forward to autumn!
ResponderExcluirDelicate and charming-I love your enchanting take on the theme!
ResponderExcluirChristine, it's wonderful to see your beautiful sketching and hear how you brought it into Gimp and ended up with this scrumptious piece. I have heard good reports about Gimp!
ResponderExcluirSuch a sweet piece.... I love the colours!
ResponderExcluirWhat a lovely sweet piece!
ResponderExcluirThat's pretty good after a 20 year break! Imagine what you'll be doing in a few months... I'd like to try digital painting. Is this Gimp good then? What a strange name it has - reminds me of that odd and creepy character in the film Pulp Fiction!
ResponderExcluirSuch a charming piece. Annette x
ResponderExcluirYou have created a very effective and delightful piece, Christine.
ResponderExcluirChristine, your digitally drawn artwork is superb. I know how long it takes to get it right and I can see the huge amount of work you have put into it. So beautiful and so creative.
ResponderExcluirI live in the southern hemisphere too (Australia). Here on the west coast we had our hottest summer on record and our driest winter. Global warming has arrived and it is scary!
