Arte & Beleza
This week the host in Take a Word is Bill and he suggested ART as the theme word. To Bill “art is what makes us beautiful”.
On the other hand, sometimes I wonder on what is beautiful in art. Throughout the years artists have represented beauty in the most varied ways, not everyone would agreed with some of their visions, but be indifferent is not an option. Art always touch us one way or another. And after all should art be beautiful?
My contribution to TAW is also a tribute to everyone who dares to make art.
From left to right clockwise: Lucille by Philippe Pasque (2002); Woman Seated in a Chair by Pablo Picasso (1941); Little Louise by Amedeo Modigliani (1915), Red Jackie by Andy Warhol (1964); The Broken Column (self-portrait) by Frida Kahlo (1944); untitled by Harding Meyer (2011); The White Skirt by Balthus (1937). Background is from a Bolon's catalog (pattern by Missoni); Texture by Jerry Jones (The Shadowhouse Creations).
