Brangelinas' makeover

This week at Take a Word the challenge theme is "MAKEOVER".  We had to choose a portrait painting or photograph and change it some way. I used the same photos of Angelina  Jolie and Brad Pitt in both makeovers of a Taylor and Burton's photo (bellow) and the great American Gothic by Grant Wood.

The Three Muses asked us to take inspiration from SONG LYRICS or a favorite POEM and create something special.  I don't know how I ended up with Two Shots Of Happy, One Shot Of Sad, a song by Bono and The Edge written as a tribute for Frank Sinatra. It was also recorded by Nancy Sinatra, his daughter. I tried not be that obvious, and replace the Jack Daniels by two sweet cats. ^=^

This week Take a Word theme is BLUE AND WHITE and I imagined a young Colleen Moore still dancing the Charleston but now in the sky... In her photos she looks a glad and vivacious girl, different from some silent movie stars with a very gloomy gaze.

This week the theme is BUTTERFLY in The Three Muses. I went for a dramatic butterfly impersonated by Louise  Brooks.

The challenge in The Three Muses for this week is to create art based on a QUOTE about TIME. Don't ask why but I relate the quote above to the aging process and to how it comes faster than one can assimilate. Me at least.  I don't know how Robin Williams came to the equation, maybe just because I like him, maybe because I keep asking myself why.

The Three Muses asked for White Space which means that two thirds of the space should be relatively unadorned. I went for deserts and when I was looking for odalisques I stumbled with this magnificent photo of Elizabeth Taylor by Firooz Zahedi. As the copy was very poor I had to work on it a little bit. Background is a photo of the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, the Algodones Dunes, in California. Font is Arab Dances. I also used a linen texture.

Mysterious Traveler

Take a Word asked for MOVIE STAR and that was easy for me as I've been working with cinema and movie stars since I've started playing with digital art.
