together

This week at Take a Word the theme is VALENTINE and while I was trying to figure out what to do I started to wonder about this travel called life and the individuals that accompany us through it, not only partners, but family, friends and spirituality. I hope you have good company in this journey.

A fine man

This week at Take a Word the theme is MALE. I had this photo for a while and I find it a bit intriguing as he is almost smiling, and they didn't smile back then, and he had earrings. I decide to provide a new outfit to him to match his wild spirit.

Man (cropped and colored): Resurgere (dA); background and other elements: MC Designs.

Lilian and Vera

Take a Word asked for MOTHER AND CHILD and I decided to pay a tribute to these beautiful mother and child: Lilian and Vera Trotter. They died on the night of March 3, 1943, in the Bethnal Green Tube tragedy. I've read about it a few years ago and this photograph made it even more poignant.

Background: Astrid Maclean; texture: Elné; butterflies: Dover.

Family album

To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else.
Emily Dickinson

Take a Word asked for Family Album. I don't have really old photos then I created a imaginary family from daguerreotypes, taken circa 1850, beginning with Emily Dickinson, then Pastor Rollin Heber Neal (both colored by me).

Embracing my solitude

To go out with the setting sun on an empty beach is to truly embrace your solitude.
Jeanne Moreau

As the winter approached, La Gioconda has escaped again from her accommodations in The Louvre and has gone to some hidden island in the South Pacific where she won't be disturbed by the paparazzi.

This is my contribution to Take a Word which  theme this week is ALTERING MONA.

Background  and Mona's body by Beth Rimmer; other elements by Createwing Designs; textures by Kim Klassen and Fabricate Stock.
