The sea and the mermaid

The Three Muses theme for this week is SEA WORLD.

The mermaid is Ann Blyth in the movie Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid (1948). I cutout, colored and applied filters to the image. Thanks to Beth Rimmer and Createwing Designs.

Paprika

Take a Word asked for HOT COLORS. I found the photo below in my aunt's album. I have no idea who she is or when it was taken. It doesn't matter, she looked so sweet! In her new outfit she also looks hot, that's why I called her Paprika.

Embracing my solitude

To go out with the setting sun on an empty beach is to truly embrace your solitude.
Jeanne Moreau

As the winter approached, La Gioconda has escaped again from her accommodations in The Louvre and has gone to some hidden island in the South Pacific where she won't be disturbed by the paparazzi.

This is my contribution to Take a Word which  theme this week is ALTERING MONA.

Background  and Mona's body by Beth Rimmer; other elements by Createwing Designs; textures by Kim Klassen and Fabricate Stock.

Enjoy Summer

Don't be shy, Marla. Take off your shoes and join me!

Hello! This is my contribution to Take a Word which theme this week is BEACH.

Background, frame and elements: Beth Rimmer; girls: E-Vint (I cut out them, colored and designed their bathing suits - thanks Marie for the tip).

Art déco beach

Hi! The theme in Take a Word is WARM COLORS and it reminded me of Miami Beach and its art déco architecture.

The background is a photo I took there; the goddesses, birds and sun are part of the façade of the building bellow (also my photo). There's a Kim Klassen texture and a pattern that is a Dover free sample.

Lighthouses on my way

Take a Word asked for COOL COLORS and I decided to take a look at  that old trunk of photographs.  Everything including texture came from my own photos. Thanks for passing by.

Invincible Summer

It's Summer in my part of the world. As the theme in Quotography is January I couldn't help it but surrender to Summer.
The beach is in somewhere between Gostoso and Galinhos in the north of Rio Gramde do Norte State, Brazil. The quote is in Noces/L'Été by Albert Camus and means: In the midst of winter, I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer.

Fading colors of the past

Hello, friends. The Three Muses asked for something VINTAGE. I did a remake of this collage, which I never liked much. I like the new version more. Hope you enjoy it too.

Thanks to Beth Rimmer (some elements) and Kim Klassen (textures). Background is a photo of mine.

Olá, amigos. As três musas pediram algo VINTAGE. Fiz uma releitura desta colagem, da qual nunca gostei muito - achava muito poluída. Da nova versão gosto mais. Espero que você também goste.

Behind the curtains

Hi there! This week, the challenge in The Three Muses is THE SEA. Good occasion for some mermaids, or at least one, better than that only if she inhabits the Caribbean sea and has a slight resemblance to Daryl Hanna. The curtains represents that this is only a dream and you are back to cold wind and luckily wild geese heading South :0) .

The background is a photo of mine. Mermaid is a blending of two Daryl Hanna's photos.

It's always Summer

In Brazil it's Summer all year (or almost). Summer suits beach, diving, carnival, ice cream, joy. So this is my interpretation of the theme WEATHER OR NOT that The Three Muses proposes this week.

The Three Muses on the beach

The three muses were exhausted in their arduous work of inspiring us poor mortals. So they decided to take a break on a beach in the Caribbean. Smart girls!

This is my contribution to this week challenge in T3M: vintage bathing beauty.

The background is a photo of mine (Varadero, Cuba); girls were colored by me; texture by Kim Klassen; others elements by Beth Rimmer and Angie Young.

Something to retire to...

- Hey, handsome! Are you going to paint me too?
Billizetti received us for a delicious retirement mad tea party, unfortunately most of us forgot to bring a gift, what made him very disgusted. To redeem myself I made this digital collage in his honor. I am very optimistic about Bill's retirement, because he has something to retire to: his ART.
This picture also apply to this week Take a Word Challenge: BEACH.

Painter palette and hat were googled, everything else by Beth Rimmer. Quote by Harry Emerson Fosdick.

Norma Jean

Has the fragile Norma Jean envisioned she would become Marilyn Monroe, one of the most powerful and enduring myths of cinema? I guess not.

I did this collage to 52 Starlets Art Challenge which theme this week is eternal Marilyn.

Dr Macro provided Marilyn Monroe photos; background by Beth Rimmer; Frame by me.

Blue marine

Aaaah! Il dolce far niente...

Hi. This is my entry for this week Three Muses Challenge: BLUE. For me this color evokes beaches, clear sky, lazy vacations. So here it is my vintage Summer.

This is a special challenge, as lovely three muses are "turning two". Let's celebrate with those wonderful creative ladies.

All elements , which I altered, including background, are Beth Rimmer's. Texture by Glenda Ketcham.

Children Playing on the Beach

This week challenge on Three Muses is "Artist of Choice". Very difficult choice I'd say. There are so many artists I appreciate. Finnaly I've decided to play with a Mary Cassat's painting I like very much: Children Playing on the Beach. It was painted in 1884.

Background is Beth Rimmer's and the frame is a photo of mine that I altered.
