My bird stamp album page

I hope you love birds too. It is economical. It saves going to heaven.
Emily Dickinson

I wasn't going to do anything like this, but I couldn't chose my favorite bird stamp... Then, I decided to post all of them (or at least all those I was able to tuck in my page).  This stamp album page is my contribution to this week challenge in The Three Muses: POSTAGE STAMPS.

Friendship is precious

Original B&W picture by Philippe Halsman. I enlarged, colored and applied filters.
Quote by Thomas Jefferson.

The theme word for this week at Take a Word is FRIENDS and I'm very honored to be the guest host. The problem was providing a sample good enough.  I made a first attempt, but didn't like the result. So I decided to try a different proposition, I liked. Then I decided to try to improve that first. It was not bad. As I didn't know which one to choose, I sent the two and left the hard work for Marie. She was kind enough to post both. Thanks, dear Marie, for the opportunity.

Original illustrations by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite and Jessie Willcox Smith.
Background are cutouts of a gorgeous quilt. Texture by Kim Klassen.

Aí, decidi tentar melhorar a primeira tentativa. Não ficou ruim. Como eu não sabia qual escolher, enviei as duas e deixei o trabalho duro para Marie. Ela foi gentil o bastante de postar ambas. Obrigada, querida Marie, pela oportunidade.

Helter Skelter Paradise

When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again
"Helter Skelter"

I have to confess, for me Helter Skelter was a very noisy Beatles song that was misunderstood by maniac Charles Manson and his followers.
Only today when looking for interesting structures for The Three Muses challenge I found out  what it is! I was amazed, it's so beautiful. We don't have these slides in our parks, only the aquatic version (without the tower). Well, I don't know if it is appropriate for the theme (ARCHITECTURE), but it is man-made and you can go inside...

Texture bu Kim Klassen.

Dream a little dream of me

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

I chose this delightful song as an inspiration for my contribution to this week theme in Take a Word: DREAM. Dream a little dream of me came out in 1931, music by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt, lyrics by Gus Kahn. Several artists recorded it, including Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Shore. but the version that always come to my mind is the 1968 recording by The Mamas and The Papas.

The key(s) of her heart

He thought he kept the key of her heart,
but apparently some gentlemen had spare keys...

Hi, guys! This is my contribution to this week challenge in The Three Muses: Lock and Key.

You are so vain!

you probably think this picture is about you...

Hi! I hope mommies and grannies have had a great day! This week the theme is PEACOCK in Take a Word and I decided to work with the white one too. These animals are splendid, don't you think? Thanks for dropping by.

Background by Elizabeth Golden (The Last door Down the Hall). The photo on the background (blue peacock head) is mine. feathers: Graphics Fairy and  Zeldona.

Three times Louise

This week The Three Muses asked for VINTAGE GLAMOUR. To me that means Louise Brooks, the quintessential flapper.

I cut out and color the images. There's a Kim Klassen texture and a background I found in a russian site (I guess) I don't know who the author is.

George Clooney: a gentleman of our time

Hi! This is my gentleman for this week theme in Take a Word: GENTLEMEN. Instead of working with lovely mustachioed vintage men, I thought it would be refreshing to have a more up-to-date subject and why not charming Mr. Clooney?
I also tried to evoke the work of Joseph Christian Leyendecker in those gorgeous magazine covers, but keeping the contemporary look. Mr. Leyendecker is the theme this week in Digitalmania.

The dog, his owners, their girlfriend and her daughter

- But mom, they don't have wings! What is that? A propeller? And look at that dog! So weird.
- When you get used to the idea you'll see they are the kindest men you ever met.
- They? Are you dating both?!?

The challenge in The Three Muses is hats, crowns, wings and things and I came up with this little fantasy.   I've just realized I missed the "things" part... Anyway, I hope you like it.
